G1 Therapeutics is seeking an experienced Director, US Medical Liaison to provide strategic and operational support for executing the Medical Science Liaison tactics as well as ongoing territory development.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop all MSLs within the region including hiring, field training, evaluation, motivation, and disciplinary activities in alignment with G1 corporate strategies and objectives. Provide strong leadership to motivate the region and achieve excellent results that align with department goals
  • Ensure that all interactions and activities in the region comply with G1 business guidances, policies, and SOPs, OIG, ACCME, FDA, and PharMA guidelines/policies 
  • Interpret and translate national strategies into MSL field activities that include development and engagement with regional opinion leaders in the individual MSL territories. Opinion leader development includes appropriate engagement with disease experts in research, as speakers, as advisors and other disease related activities
  • Guide and mentor MSLs in the intake of research ideas for IITs by providing regional interpretations of Medical Affairs open research questions. Ensure guidance is aligned with strategy and incorporates other ongoing research activities
  • Guide and assist the MSLs in the coordination of opinion leader interactions across the region and with internal stake holders as necessary 
  • Clearly communicate national, regional, and territory plans and tactics; define, clarify and manage regional team priorities; actively support the regional team within their scope of responsibility by being their advocate and spokesperson; promote collaboration within the team, across work groups and with customers 
  • Collaborate within Medical Affairs to appropriately respond to unsolicited requests for pipeline or off-label information 
  • Represent the MSL function on US Medical Affairs teams as necessary  Develop and maintain productive and appropriate relationships with individuals across the organization to include commercial and Clinical Development. Appropriately partner with the commercial field team to provide necessary and appropriate medical resources in the region and corresponding districts

Requirements:

  • MD, PharmD, MSN or PhD OR Bachelor's level scientific education and 7 years of Regional Medical/Science Liaison experience 
  • Minimum 10 years related experience which includes at least 5 years of oncology experience with demonstrated leadership success in a pharmaceutical or biotech company required
  • 3-5 years of experience managing a team
  • Excellent communication, presentation and time management skills required; must be adaptable and able to work well within a team and relate effectively with people at all levels of the organization 
  • Able to inspire a team to excel by fostering a climate of energy, excitement and personal accountability 
  • Demonstrated leadership in ambiguous situations 
  • Current working knowledge of US legal, regulatory, and compliance regulations and guidelines 
  • Ability to partner with key internal stakeholders to understand G1's key objectives, and to drive plans that achieve or exceed these
  • Able to travel up to 60%
