G1 Therapeutics is seeking an experienced and talented Director, Business Development to join the team.

This role will assume a highly visible role within the organization collaborating with the SVP of Corporate Development and senior management in establishing value-added partnerships, alliances and relationships that support G1's mission and product offering.


  • Identifying, evaluating, and prioritizing potential partners, partnerships and alliances in support of G1's business model, strategy and product roadmap, in a collaboration with senior management.
  • Analyze optimal deal structures based on comparable deals and deal structures, G1 product candidate commercial potential, P&L's and NPV monitor, cultivate and manage G1's portfolio of prospective partner and alliance relationships and associated programs.
  • Develop business cases and communications for use in strategic partner development and management discussions.
  • Facilitate management briefings on business development opportunities.
  • Identify key growth areas and evaluate potential licensing and acquisition opportunities.
  • Integrate activities of functional groups across multiple projects.
  • Possess excellent communication skills, radiating a confidence which elicits instant credibility both within G1 and into our partner community. Develop strong relationships with the entire team at G1, quickly earning a reputation as a reliable and respected leader.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • BA/BS, MBA, MS or PhD
  • At least 10+ years in Business Development in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry with a focus on transaction and partnering support. Working knowledge of pharma/biotech industry issues, trends, and their business impact.
  • Evidence of ability to develop deal structures and conduct and conclude contract negotiations.
  • Proven ability to lead multiple BD projects efficiently and with a high degree of independence.
  • Must be highly motivated, goal and detail oriented, diligent, strategic, and a self-starter.
  • Experience in successful transactions for oncology products preferred.
  • Able to work both collaboratively on teams as well as independently as appropriate.
  • Possesses an understanding of, and direct experience modeling, discounted cash flow, net present value, internal rates of return and risk analysis techniques.
  • Able to effectively guide preparation of sales forecasts, P&Ls, risk analyses, and company valuations.
  • Able to integrate scientific knowledge into the business model.
  • Ability to review and edit contracts and give business direction to Legal in writing agreements.
  • Understanding of the drug development process.
  • Consistently delivers on commitments in a timely manner.
